Position overview
Applications Manager - SVA Automotive Ser/Des & Ethernet
The Automotive Connectivity & Ethernet (ACE) business unit is seeking a highly qualified candidate to participate as the manager of the organization's Applications Engineering team. This position is based in Santa Clara, CA.
As an Applications Manager you would be part of the ACE applications team that supports SVA's automotive serializer and deserializer (FPD-Link II & III) and industrial Ethernet products. The primary systems focus include automotive infotainment, driver assist, and industrial systems. In this position you will manage the applications team and work closely with the design and marketing teams to define new products; engage in product validation and testing; prepare customer collateral such as data sheets, evaluation boards, application notes, and training materials. This position also provides critical customer support that includes review of customer designs and architectures, and investigation of customer reported issues related to SVA's automotive ser/des and Ethernet products. This position also offers the opportunity to develop sub-system demonstration platforms and customer reference designs. There is considerable interaction with both customers, other organizations in TI, as well as field staff. Some travel is also required.
This position requires applications experience and system level knowledge in one or more of the following applications: automotive infotainment, driver assist, high-speed digital video transmission standards, imaging/displays, high-speed serializer/deserializer applications, Ethernet PHYs.
Knowledge and Skills:
The ideal candidate should have experience in most of the following areas:
Customer support
Schematic capture, PCB layout and high-speed design techniques
Evaluation hardware, demonstration development
Strong hardware debug and lab bench analysis skills
Published application notes, articles
Strong Communications Skills (written and verbal)
Basic software/scripting skills (GUI development, lab automation)
Experience with FPGA/microcontroller programming, IBIS AMI modeling, EMC/automotive compliance is a plus
Responsibilities Include:
Managing a staff of applications engineers
Development of New Product Specifications
Product Development Support
Documentation (authoring device datasheets, applications notes, preparing requirements and design specifications, user guides)
Reference Designs for targeted applications
Technical Training (product and system level training for both customers and field staff)
Customer Support (design in, troubleshooting, device selection).
Job requirements
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of a BSEE or equivalent with at least 6 years of engineering experience. This position is based in Santa Clara, CA.
